Movement Continuum Receives Kentucky Foundation for Women Art Meets Activism Grant

We are thrilled to announce Movement Continuum is a Kentucky Foundation for Women Art Meets Activism 2023 grant recipient in the amount of $5,943! MC is so grateful to have KFW’s support as we continue to nurture Moving North, our cost-free dance training program for Lexington girls 10-18 years old. Moving North stands firmly on the foundation art is a necessity, so we search for the barriers that make dance inaccessible and work to remove them. Art is for everyone, and on that thought we will not budge. When we say Moving North is cost-free, we mean it.

In its first season, Moving North was tremendously successful providing a safe space for girls to explore creativity, nurture social-emotional development and build community while doubling as a source of family and community pride. We believe young women deserve programs that prioritze them and their place in our community, so fostering an environment where Lexington’s girls can thrive is our priority.

To have a second season on the horizon is a real life dream! For now, we say thank you, thank you to Kentucky Foundation for Women for believing in Moving North and believing in us. We promise to do good work.
